Adze
The cooper’s hand adze is a tool used in barrel making. This tool is shaped like an axe, with a curved blade—the cutting edge—oriented perpendicular to the handle. The other end of the tool—the head—is shaped like a hammer.
The adze is used to plane and curve the inside of the barrel. It can also be used to shape and hollow out any curved shape.
