Try-pot

The try-pots, generally made of copper, are huge cauldrons used to melt whale blubber. Set directly on top of the stone ovens, trypots are large enough to hold a significant amount of blubber.

After the fat has been rendered into oil, it is purified with water and poured into wooden barrels called barricas.
